In September Alan and I spent 10 glorious days in Alaska.  It was a fantastic trip!  Alaska is unbelievably beautiful! We flew into Anchorage, took trains to Seward, Talkeetna, and Fairbanks; and a bus tour through Denali Park. We saw wildlife: moose, black and brown bears, bald eagles, orcas, a humpback whale…and those were the live critters. We saw all kinds of (stuffed) critters, old and new, in the museum at the University of Alaska. We rode in a dog sled and a seaplane. Needless to say, the fish was to die for! I ate my fill of salmon and halibut. Following are the highlights. I included only a few pics, but I took hundreds. One great surprise was that by the time we reached Fairbanks to fly home, the trees had turned autumn colors.  Stunning! Here’s a short travel log of our best trip yet:
